Create a model

Invoke SHAKYGROUND, click “Input”, then “Edit Models” (or click the 7th icon on the toolbar of the window “SHAKYGROUND – Mestor Snc”). Underneath the title “Models” you find 5 icons (buttons), each of them representing a certain option SHAKYGROUND offers. You will further find a listbox (a white box with a downward arrow on its right) called “Model name”, then six sheets named “Source”, “Strata”, “Response Spectrum”, “General”, “Output”, “Receiver”. If you click the textbox “Model name” and enter a string you either will retrieve an already existing model, or open a new entry in the model data base where you can safe the input parameter set. You can also click on the arrow on the listbox to get a list of the models available and then select an exiting model. You save the input parameter set as a model simply by clicking the 2nd icon from the right on the toolbar (the icon looks like a floppy disk). You may cancel an entry in the model data base with the 3rd icon from the right on the toolbar (the “X” symbolizing a cancellation).
If you didn’t access to the model data base SHAKYGROUND provides a default model which you can process immediately clicking the last icon (5th from the right, the “space shuttle”) on the toolbar. You may also prefer to have no entries on the sheets at all. In this case click the first icon (moving the mouse over it you see the indication “New Model”) on the toolbar. This cancels the parameters of the default model from the sheets. You then must enter all entries in all sheets by your own before you can launch SHAKYGROUND.
